FAQ

How long will my tattoo take to set?
Your transfer is an extremely thin film that lays over the surface of your skin. It can take up to 4 - 5 hours to fully set onto your skin.

How long until the 'shine' goes?
When first applied it will be shiny & look like it's 'on top' of the skin like a sticker. It just needs time to settle down. Avoid touching/disturbing it.

My tattoo has cracks in it?
Cracks in the image when first applied is totally normal because the transfer is still rigid. As it settles, it becomes more elastic & those cracks will disappear & the tattoo will fully blend. Avoid touching it or any friction, let the tattoo settle naturally.

How long will my tattoo last?
On average between 2 - 10 days. This depends on a few factors:
1. Location e.g. wrist/hand tattoos tend to wear faster due to increased friction, while thigh/upper arm tattoos can last a lot longer as they are more protected. Avoidance of contact or rubbing will help prolong your tattoo's lifespan.
2. Skin type - tattoos may last longer on dry areas of skin as opposed to oily skin. Ensure your skin is clean & dry before application & avoid using any oil or alcohol based products over the surface of your tattoo as it can break it down.

My tattoo has gotten a little dirty?
Just use a little soap & water, very gently rub over the tattoo removing any surface fibres it has picked up and rinse.

Is my tattoo waterproof?
They are completely waterproof & sweat-proof. You can shower, bathe, or swim without damaging your tattoo.

HOW LONG DO THEY LAST
The lifespan of your tattoo can vary from 2 to 10 days,
InkBound tattoos are water transfer tattoos, they consist of a thin layer that sits on the skin's surface and gradually sets onto the skin over the course of a few hours. They do not penetrate or dye the skin.
There are a few factors to keep in mind that can effect lifespan;
Location - e.g. wrist, hand or foot tattoos will wear faster due to increased friction, whilst thigh, upper arm, neck or chest tattoos can last longer as they are more protected. To prolong the lifespan of your tattoo, avoid excess rubbing or contact with the area as much as you can.
Additionally, oily or dry skin can also affect the longevity of the tattoo. Tattoos tend to last longer on dry skin compared to oily skin as the oil gets underneath the tattoo and causes it to lift faster. Therefore, make sure your skin is clean and dry before applying the tattoo and avoid using oil or alcohol-based products on the tattoo's surface as they can break it down.
Our tattoos are professional quality so always follow the instruction steps fully to get the best result from your tattoo - see How To Apply for more information.
